Why WebPlus

When I concluded that a website would be a beneficial tool in getting us to the mission field, I began with the online website builder that came with my web-hosting provider. It was simple, sharp, but limited. I then ventured out to the local office store to look at their web design software. For about $50, I purchased software that had samples on the box that looked sharp. Much to my disappointment, the templates did not look anything like the examples on the box. I also found it very difficult to do the features that I desired. It was find for the basics, but I needed something with better features. I then tried NetObjects Fusion. This software was able to accomplish the tasks I needed, but the software was very difficult to learn and use. For one of my birthdays, I planned on getting the upgrade for NetObjects Fusion, until I found out about Serif’s WebPlus. I had used their video editing software for creating our deputation video and really liked the interface and ease of use. After trying out the WebPlus, I was not disappointed. Here are some of the reason why I would recommend the software to you if you plan on creating or maintaining your own site.

1. Cost. The price tag was just right. It cost around $80 if you buy it separately but significantly less if you purchase other software from Serif with it (like their MoviePlus, PhotoPlus, DrawPlus, PagePlus, etc.). Adobe Dreamweaver is known as the top software for web design, but the price tag is beyond what most of us would like to spend. WebPlus provides a feature-rich software for a reasonable price.

2. WYSIWYG. In other words, it is a What You See Is What You Get website editor. You do not need to know any HTML, Java, or other programming languages. You place the text box or pictures where you want and the software takes care of the programming side of things.

3. Ease of Use. If you have experience with any type of desktop publishing programs, you will feel comfortable with WebPlus’ interface. You create your page like you would a document for printing. The tutorials and help features also come stocked with the tools you need to use and master the program.

4. Professional Templates. The templates that come with the software provide you with a basis for creating a sharp, professional website. Simply replace the pictures and text to fit your needs. Color schemes can be changed with a couple clicks of the mouse to give it the look you desire.

5. Automated Features. For example, to create a flash photo gallery, you choose the pictures and the software does the rest. WebPlus also can create blogs, RSS feeds, forms, site search tool, and more. All these are included in the program without the need for additional software.

6. Flexibility. If you do want to add code for widgets or other features not available within WebPlus, the software allows you the flexibility to do this. The possibilities and freedom are many with this program, even though it is a WYSIWYG software.

7. 30-Day Trial. Unless the company has changed this, you can return the software within 30 days, if you are not satisfied with the program. This allows you to try it without the risk of being stuck with it. Don’t want to order it but want to get a taste of it? You can download a free version to use here. It is limited in functions but will give you a basic idea of its functionality.

If you are looking for free software and website, they do exist. Programs like WordPress, Yola, Joomla, Wix, and others provide the means of having a free to almost free website. These programs and company websites have not been tested by us, nor do we approve of all pictures and material that may be on these sites.
